Learning and truly understanding the importance of the fundamentals is critical in being a proficient golfer. Mastering the fundamentals and nailing down a solid swing makes it easier to recover when things start to slip away. (They will…its golf!) No two golfers are the same and no two ever will be. We all have individual characteristics about ourselves that will make our swing unique in some way. That is why as we start to discover through time, lessons and practice what works best for our own individual swing, we always want to have the fundamentals to fall back on. To stay consistent we must remain fundamentally sound.
The fundamentals should always be the building blocks of a solid golf swing.

Although it often goes against the popularity of many newer students, equal time spent on the short game and the driving range is paramount in becoming a well-rounded player. Chipping, pitching, sand and putting (scoring) can be half of your score. The short game is the most overlooked part of golf for new students. The typical new golfer wants to head straight to the range, grab a driver and rip it! You will find the more experienced player spending far more time on the short game compared to the range. Getting the ball in the hole in fewer shots in the end is ultimately, what make the good golfers good.
